Inactive Accounts Policy

This policy is designed to maintain the efficiency and integrity of the KoboToolbox system while respecting users' engagement with the platform. A KoboToolbox Account is deemed active if a user successfully signed into the account at least once in two years. An inactive account refers to a KoboToolbox Account that has not engaged in any recorded activity over a continuous 2-year period. Kobo retains the right to delete such an account, including any associated activity and data, following a minimum of two years of inactivity.

A KoboToolbox Account is considered active even if it has not been used within a 2-year period if it was used to make a purchase of a paid subscription plan or other service that is current or ongoing.

If you own multiple KoboToolbox Accounts, it is your responsibility to ensure that each account is actively used within a 2-year period to prevent it from becoming inactive.

Should your KoboToolbox Account fall into inactivity for a continuous 2-year period, it will be classified as an inactive account, and all of its content and data may be subject to deletion. However, we recognize the importance of your data and projects and will provide notice and an opportunity to reactivate your account by sending email notifications to the email address(es) associated with your KoboToolbox Account.
