Working Offline

The Kobo Form Designer can be used offline, for those working in places with limited connectivity. 

  The downloadable form builder is can be accessed below.   System Requirements You must have Java installed. Most systems do already have Java installed. To check your java installation, or to download and install it, please visit http://www.java.com .   Instructions Download the file below, double click the file when download is complete and it will install to a location on you hard drive and create a shortcut on your desktop and start menu.   

Note for Linux users: You will have to set the permission on the install file to be executable. From the command line in the download directory use the following command: 

chmod +x formbuilder_installer_linux.jar

  Security Note:     A Security warning will ask permission to access the local file system in order to load and save files. Check the "always allow" checkbox, and click "Run"

You will be able to access the Form builder using your web browser viewing your local file system.  See the Getting Started tutorial in the User Guide for more detailed help.
